Rouge Sellier came out victorious at Kempton

Following her impressive 15-length victory at Kempton, Sir Mark Prescott’s Rouge Sellier is now being prepared for a black-type race. Last year, she finished third in two outings, including a race behind Indelible at Lingfield in November. After undergoing wind surgery and taking a 242-day break, she returned to the track in dominant fashion.

Ridden by Luke Morris, Rouge Sellier left no doubt about the outcome of the race as she effortlessly pulled away from the competition. Prescott was pleasantly surprised by the filly’s performance, admitting that while they were hopeful of a win, the margin of victory was unexpected.

Looking ahead, Prescott plans to enter Rouge Sellier in higher-level races, taking into account her preference for softer ground due to her Lope De Vega lineage. With several options on the table, including races in France and the Aphrodite, the trainer is considering carefully before making the next move.

In addition to Rouge Sellier’s success, Prescott celebrated his first Royal Ascot victory in over two decades with Pledgeofallegiance's win in the Ascot Stakes. The trainer is now eyeing Glorious Goodwood for the horse’s next race, followed by a potential entry in the Cesarewitch later in the season. Prescott is keen to manage Pledgeofallegiance’s schedule carefully, aiming to run him just twice more before the end of the year.
