Rosallion will not compete in the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on Wednesday due to a respiratory infection.
The Blue Point colt, who finished second to Notable Speech in the 2000 Guineas before winning the Irish Guineas and the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, was expected to face Notable Speech again, along with St James’s Palace runner-up Henry Longfellow, in the Group One feature.
However, Rosallion was officially declared a non-runner shortly after 11 am on Tuesday. The respiratory infection was cited as the reason for his withdrawal.
Richard Hannon announced on his website that Rosallion will miss the Sussex Stakes due to a respiratory infection. His well-being is the top priority. Although he won't race, there's still plenty of the season left for his return to form.
