Trainer Andrew Slattery continued his strong recent form as Rock Etoile won Division II of the Bar One Racing Guaranteed Multiples All Shops Handicap at Dundalk.
Typically, a front-runner, the six-year-old was held up early from stall 14 while The Bog Bank led the field under James Ryan. Cian Horgan moved Rock Etoile closer on the outer in the straight and took the lead a furlong from the finish, driving on to win by three-quarters of a length.
The victory marked the fourth career win for the son of Fastnet Rock.
Slattery remarked that Rock Etoile was well handicapped based on his previous form. He noted that the horse has had some issues, including a palate burn, but had a good run at Leopardstown last Thursday, which likely contributed to his performance.
He expressed no concerns about stall 14, explaining that the bend is nearly half a mile away, making it less of an issue compared to a closer bend.
Slattery also highlighted the stable's recent success, with three winners last week and two this week. He mentioned that there are several more entries for Dundalk, including many two-year-olds who have yet to race.
