Regional is likely to race in Fidelity Energy Hackwood Stakes

Regional, who was set to run in the July Cup but was withdrawn due to ground conditions, is now likely to race in the Fidelity Energy Hackwood Stakes at Newbury on Saturday. Trainer Ed Bethell is hopeful that the ground will dry out in time for the race, as Regional has shown great form recently, finishing second in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot last month.

Bethell believes that the flat six furlongs at Newbury will suit Regional well, and is looking forward to the race. Despite being the favourite, Bethell acknowledges that the three-year-old’s Elite Status and Lake Forest will provide tough competition. However, Bethell remains confident in Regional's abilities and hopes for a strong showing.

Clive Cox, trainer of James's Delight and Diligent Harry, is also considering running his horses in the Hackwood Stakes. With the weather forecast predicting drier conditions, Cox believes that the ground may be suitable for his horses, especially James's Delight who prefers softer surfaces.

Both trainers are monitoring the weather closely and hope that conditions will be favourable for their horses come race day.
