Quinault is set for a winter competition

Quinault is set for a winter of international competition after completing a hat-trick at York earlier this month.

The four-year-old sprinter, trained by Stuart Williams, now boasts 10 wins from 19 starts, with his latest victory marking his third consecutive Listed win, following successes at Chester and Newmarket.

Given the strength of his recent form, Quinault is poised to take on tougher challenges before the season ends. Williams plans to send him abroad for winter racing, eyeing high-value events like the $2 million Turf Sprint on Saudi Cup day, previously won by Mick Appleby’s Annaf.

"He’s been an absolute star for us, and we’re fortunate to have him," Williams said. "The owner turned down significant offers for him last year, so it’s great to reward that trust."

Quinault will likely have a short break before making one more appearance in October. Williams is focused on finding lucrative races for him overseas, whether they are Group races or other high-stakes events.

"Although he’s probably beyond handicaps now, the specific race status isn’t crucial since he’s a gelding. We’re looking for high-value races where he can earn substantial prize money," Williams added. "He’s a sound, adaptable horse and performs consistently well, making him a strong candidate for international racing opportunities."
