Thurles is set to undergo a precautionary inspection at 7.30 am in anticipation of Tuesday's scheduled events. Lorcan Wyer, the IHRB Clerk of the Course, has cited an updated weather forecast indicating the likelihood of prolonged heavy rain across Munster. As a proactive measure, the inspection has been scheduled to assess the track conditions at Thurles on Tuesday morning.
Wyer elaborated,
"Following a recent weather update projecting persistent heavy rainfall in Munster, we have decided to conduct a thorough inspection at Thurles at 7.30 am as a precautionary step. Since the declarations were made yesterday morning, the region has experienced 5mm of rainfall, resulting in the ground now being classified as soft to heavy."
He further added,
"While it remains challenging to predict the exact amount of overnight precipitation, Met Eireann has cautioned about the potential for localised flooding in parts of Munster. Fortunately, the rain is expected to diminish by around 8 am, paving the way for a dry and sunny day ahead."
