Regarding his two main chances for Classic triumph at Epsom, Aidan O'Brien has provided a reassuring update, reporting that Oaks market leader Ylang Ylang and Betfred Derby favourite City Of Troy are both in terrific spirits.
The former has to recover after a poor showing in the 2000 Guineas at Newmarket, where he finished ninth out of 11 runners and 17 lengths behind Notable Speech.
But after his incredible juvenile campaign last year, which included an incredibly remarkable victory at Dewhurst, he was a heavy favourite for that race, and the Justify colt is highly backed to regain that form.
Ylang Ylang finished a tight fifth in the 1000 Guineas with a far more attractive effort, holding on to finish just a length behind surprise scorer Elmalka.
The daughter of Beth Frankel has long been considered a middle-distance prospect and captained her two-year campaign with a valiant victory in the Fillies' Mile.
After sending out Heavens Gate to victory at the Curragh on Sunday, O’Brien said: “We’re very happy with City Of Troy, all is good so far. I’m told there has been some rain at Epsom, but it was soft when he won the Dewhurst last year. Ylang Ylang was fit going to the Guineas and has come out of the race well. Hopefully, we’ll just keep her ticking over until Friday.”
