Aidan O'Brien is set to have four horses compete in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby at the Curragh on Sunday. The announcement was made through a statement on the Coolmore website, detailing Ballydoyle's plans for the prestigious race.
O'Brien's runners for the mile-and-a-half event will include Los Angeles, Grosvenor Square, Euphoric, and The Euphrates. Ryan Moore will aim for consecutive victories in the race aboard Betfred Derby third-placed Los Angeles, while Euphoric will be ridden by Declan McDonagh. Wayne Lordan and Dylan Browne McMonagle will be on board Grosvenor Square and The Euphrates.
Agenda and Chief Little Rock are expected to be withdrawn from the race when declarations are made on Friday. O'Brien's quartet will make up half of the eight-runner field, with Keeper's Heart, Sunway, Matsuri, and Ambiente Friendly completing the line-up.
The statement from Ballydoyle said, "With declarations due on Friday morning, Los Angeles, Grosvenor Square, Euphoric, and The Euphrates are all likely to take part in the Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby. Ryan Moore will ride Los Angeles, aiming for a second consecutive victory in the Classic."
The statement also mentioned that Ballydoyle's decision to run four horses in the race, along with four other likely starters, will help ensure a competitive field to support the World Pool.
