Kyprios is set to lead the charge for Aidan O’Brien’s team at Royal Ascot next week, aiming to reclaim his Gold Cup title. Coming off an impressive unbeaten streak in 2022, which included wins in the Goodwood Cup, Irish St Leger, and Prix du Cadran, the six-year-old suffered a setback last season due to injury.
Now back in fine form after starting the new season with two consecutive victories, Kyprios is favoured to continue his winning ways. O’Brien is pleased with the horse’s progress and is optimistic about his chances at Ascot.
In addition to Kyprios, O’Brien has high hopes for Auguste Rodin in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, Henry Longfellow in the St James’s Palace Stakes, Opera Singer in the Coronation Stakes, and Continuous in the Hardwicke Stakes. The trainer also has a strong line up of two-year-olds ready to compete in various races during the five-day meeting.
Overall, O’Brien is confident in his team’s abilities and hopes for a successful outing at the highly competitive Royal Ascot.
