Richard Hughes is set to elevate No Half Measures back into higher competition following her triumphant return at Newmarket on Friday.
The speedy filly started strong, winning three out of her first four races. However, a step-up in grade for the Scurry Stakes at Sandown saw her finish fifth, two lengths behind the winner Adaay In Devon. Undeterred, she defied her 50-1 odds at Royal Ascot's Palace of Holyroodhouse, finishing a commendable third behind Pilgrim.
Her recent performance at Newmarket showcased her superiority over the field, prompting Hughes to consider stepping her up in class in pursuit of black type.
“She’s improving with every race, but that was nice because she had a hard enough race at Ascot and you are always taking a bit of a chance running at both meetings,” Hughes commented. "She's developing exceptionally quickly and has remarkable potential."
Reflecting on their previous foray into black-type competition at Sandown, Hughes acknowledged it didn't pan out as hoped. However, No Half Measures' strong showing at Ascot has emboldened the team to venture into higher levels once more.
"We're taking another shot now," Hughes affirmed.
