Qatar Racing’s New Century is eyeing a Breeders’ Cup bid after his Listed win at Salisbury last week.
Trained by Andrew Balding, the promising colt has impressed this season with victories at Doncaster and Salisbury, and solid performances against the top-class Al Qudra. A son of Group One winner Kameko, New Century led throughout to win the Stonehenge Stakes, and connections are now considering major future targets, including a possible trip to Del Mar.
David Redvers of Qatar Racing commented, “The win at Salisbury was crucial for us and very satisfying. He has a bright future ahead and is a great representative of his sire. We’re excited about his potential.”
Sheikh Fahad is exploring various options for New Century, including the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf, which is a race he is particularly interested in. Discussions between Sheikh Fahad and trainer Andrew Balding are ongoing.
