Devil's Point trip to Goodwood on Friday could position him for a run at the German 2000 Guineas.
After completing second in the Futurity Trophy at Doncaster to cap off his juvenile career, the New Bay colt crossed the Channel for his three-year-old debut and earned a respectable third place in the Prix Djebel, a recognised trial for the French 2000 Guineas.
Stablemate Sunway, who placed fifth in his reappearance in the Prix la Force, may start in Sunday week's Poule d'Essai des Poulains at ParisLongchamp. Devil's Point may travel further into Europe for his Classic bid, but not before competing in this week's British Stallion Studs John Dunlop EBF Conditions Stakes on the Sussex Downs.
“They are both absolutely grand and have come on well for their races,” said Menuisier. “Devil’s Point will target the German 2000 Guineas and might go to Goodwood on Friday to improve his fitness and then maybe go on to Cologne from there. Sunway, he could go for the Poule d’Essai des Poulains or the Prix Greffulhe on May 6 and we’ve left him in the Dante as well, so options are still open. The Prix du Jockey Club is the main aim and I’m just not sure he can win a Classic over a mile, I have a doubt about how quick he is. That is why we’re not sure what to do next.”
