Willie Mullins’ talented mare, Lossiemouth, is set to showcase her prowess at Cheltenham as she spearheads the formidable line-up in the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle.
The grey mare delivered a stunning performance on Trials day in January, triumphing by an impressive nine-and-a-half lengths in the Unibet Hurdle, outpacing rivals including Love Envoi and sparking discussions about her potential in the Champion Hurdle.
Opting to keep Lossiemouth within her sex, her connections are confident as she transitions to the two-and-a-half-mile distance for the first time, securing her as the dominant figure in the betting markets.
Having claimed victory at the Festival last season in the Triumph Hurdle over a shorter distance, trainer Willie Mullins expresses unwavering belief in Lossiemouth's ability to handle the extended trip.
“Lossiemouth was exceptional on Trials day, and I expect her to build on that form in her upcoming race,”
Mullins remarked.
“As a Triumph Hurdle winner, she is well-suited for the distance and I have full faith in her staying power.”
