Keatley plans to take a break for Kihavah

Adrian Keatley’s Kihavah demonstrated his versatility once again with a strong second-place finish behind Magical Zoe in the Sky Bet Ebor last week.

Having previously finished as the runner-up in both the Summer Hurdle at Market Rasen and one of the season’s toughest Flat handicaps, Kihavah has proven his adaptability across different disciplines.

Keatley plans to take his time before deciding on Kihavah's next move, but another Flat race appears likely. "We weren’t making any immediate plans after the race," said Keatley. "We just wanted to get him home and assess his condition. If there’s a premier handicap on good ground, he’ll definitely be in the mix."

"He’s been impressive in his last two outings—second in the Ebor and second in the Summer Hurdle. He’s a fantastic jumper, so we’ll keep an eye out for suitable opportunities, but we need to be mindful of ground conditions. For now, there doesn’t seem to be an immediate hurdle race that fits his needs."

Keatley’s other stable star, Symbol Of Strength, also performed well, finishing third in the Gimcrack despite starting at 80-1. "Symbol Of Strength is entered in both the Mill Reef and the Middle Park," Keatley noted. "We’ll choose between them based on how he’s doing. He’s been rated 107, and we’re pleased with his performance and recovery."
