Jayarebe prepares for another cross-Channel challenge

Jayarebe, who last finished behind Economics in France, is preparing for another cross-Channel challenge.

After winning the Hampton Court Stakes at Royal Ascot in June, the Brian Meehan-trained colt secured a clear second in the Prix Guillaume d’Ornano at Deauville in mid-August. He is now being aimed at the Prix Dollar, a Group Two race on Arc weekend in Paris.

“The form looks strong, and he’s set to run in the Prix Dollar on Arc weekend,” said Meehan. “That could lead to the Breeders’ Cup Turf, but we’ll see.”

Meehan also has exciting plans for his promising juveniles, Law Of Design and Rashabar. Law Of Design built on his debut third at Newmarket with a convincing victory at Ascot, while Coventry Stakes winner Rashabar finished as the runner-up to Whistlejacket in the Prix Morny last time out, with Group One opportunities both at home and abroad.

“Law Of Design is in great form, and we’re considering either the Royal Lodge on September 28 or the Autumn Stakes on October 12 at Newmarket, depending on how he’s doing,” Meehan added.

“Rashabar is currently on track for the Jean-Luc Lagardere on Arc weekend. We don’t need to rush into any decisions since the owners are patient. He worked well this morning, and everyone was very pleased. The Dewhurst is also an option, as well as the Breeders’ Cup, so we have plenty of choices and will take our time before making any commitments.”

“We’ll play it by ear and hold off on definitive plans for him for now.”
