It is expected that Vandeek will make a return to Haydock in Sandy Lane

Undefeated speedster Vandeek has set the Sandy Lane Stakes at Haydock as his primary objective as he prepares for his highly anticipated three-year-old season.

The colt trained by Simon and Ed Crisford had an exceptional juvenile season. He competed in four races and emerged victorious in each one. With each triumph, he steadily ascended the ranks, progressing from maiden races to the prestigious Group One level.

At Goodwood, he triumphed in the Richmond Stakes on a damp track and later emerged victorious in the prestigious Prix Mornyat Deauville in extremely wet conditions.

However, at Newmarket in late September, he demonstrated his adaptability by delivering his most impressive performance yet, triumphing in the Middle Park on a track with ideal conditions.

The highly anticipated Sandy Lane, sponsored by Betfred, is currently the top pick for the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot. This exciting race marks the beginning of his campaign, as he will face other talented three-year-olds in a thrilling six-furlong Group Two challenge on May 25.

Vandeek, a remarkably unique and imaginative two-year-old, is said to have experienced tremendous growth and development during the winter months.
