Inspiral bounces back after the disappointing performance

Inspiral, a star mare for Cheveley Park Stud, is looking to bounce back after disappointing performances in her first two races this season. The daughter of Frankel has had great success in Group One races over the past few years, including a thrilling win at the Breeders' Cup.

Despite being overshadowed by Audience in her first race back over a mile at the Lockinge, Inspiral was not able to make up ground in the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, finishing sixth behind Auguste Rodin. Chris Richardson, Cheveley Park's managing director, is considering all options for the five-year-old, including races over a mile and a quarter or back at a mile.

Reflecting on Inspiral's Ascot run, Richardson noted that she missed the break again and struggled to make up ground in the stamina-testing race. He mentioned that in hindsight, they may have made a different decision regarding her race distance. However, all options were being considered for her next race, including the Nassau, Jacques le Marois, and Sussex stakes.

While Inspiral raced in the Prince of Wales's Stakes, Audience was Cheveley Park's main hope in the Queen Anne. However, his front-running tactics did not prove as successful as in the Lockinge, and he finished fifth behind Charyn. Richardson mentioned that Audience may not have quite got home over the mile distance and will be considering races at Goodwood for his next outing.
