Horizon Dore impressed with a third-place finish in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot, and may return to Britain later in the summer. Trained by Patrice Cottier in France, the four-year-old also finished third in the Champion Stakes last October at Ascot. After showing good form in France, including a narrow defeat in the Prix d’Ispahan, Horizon Dore returned to Berkshire for a strong performance against Auguste Rodin at the Royal meeting.
Despite being scratched from the Coral-Eclipse at Sandown, Horizon Dore may target the Juddmonte International Stakes at York in August. Racing manager Pauline Chehboub, representing Gousserie Racing who co-owns the horse, expressed satisfaction with their Royal Ascot results and hinted at a more positive riding strategy for Horizon Dore in the future.
Another Gousserie Racing horse, Classic Flower, finished fifth in the Commonwealth Cup at Royal Ascot and now aims to achieve Group One success. The consistent filly, a Group Two winner, may target the Abbaye at ParisLongchamp during Arc weekend. Plans for both horses will be discussed with partners and trainers as they look to continue their strong performances in the upcoming races.
