Highlights from Tony McFadden

Tony McFadden reviews the Timeform ratings following Babouche’s win in the Group 1 Phoenix Stakes at the Curragh:

This century, only Lady Aurelia (127) has been Timeform’s highest-rated juvenile filly, but currently, females dominate the top ranks.

Top Ratings:

- Bedtime Story: The highest-rated two-year-old at 116p, thanks to her impressive win in the Chesham Stakes at Royal Ascot.

- Babouche: Joint second with Fairy Godmother at 112p. Babouche impressed in the Phoenix Stakes, extending her unbeaten record.

- Fairy Godmother: Also rated 112p, she overcame a troubled run to win the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot.

Other Notables:

- Henri Matisse: The top-rated colt at 110p, with a potential clash with Ancient Truth (109p) in the National Stakes.

- Whistlejacket: Improved to 109p despite finishing behind Babouche.

- Lake Victoria: Enhanced her rating to 107p after a dominant win in the Sweet Solera Stakes.

Top Fillies:

- Bedtime Story (116p): From a stylish debut to a remarkable Chesham Stakes victory, she’s a top prospect.

- Babouche (112p): Confirmed her quality with wins in the Anglesey Stakes and Phoenix Stakes.

- Fairy Godmother (112p): Progressed from a second-place debut to a standout performance in the Albany Stakes.

These ratings highlight a strong group of fillies and colts, with several likely to shine in upcoming top-level races.
