William Haggas is looking to take a chance with Dubai Honour in the upcoming King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Qipco Stakes after the horse's Group One victory in France over the weekend. The six-year-old, already a dual Group One winner in Australia, claimed a significant European prize by winning the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud with Tom Marquand in the saddle.
Acknowledging that the competition will be tougher at Ascot's prestigious midsummer race on July 27, Haggas is still willing to allow Dubai Honour to prove himself. Following the French triumph, Haggas expressed his satisfaction with the performance and praised the horse's ability to perform well regardless of the direction of the course.
While Dubai Honour may not receive the recognition he deserves, Haggas believes in his talent and potential. As the gelding seems to be hitting his stride at age six, Haggas is optimistic about his chances in the King George and feels that there is nothing to lose by entering him in the race.
