Guy Lavender has been appointed as the new CEO of Cheltenham Racecourse

Guy Lavender has been appointed as the new CEO of Cheltenham Racecourse, succeeding Ian Renton. Lavender, a former Parachute Regiment officer with extensive experience in sports administration, including roles with London 2012, Somerset County Cricket Club, and Marylebone Cricket Club, will start early next year. He will work alongside Renton to ensure a smooth transition before the 2025 Festival.

Lavender expressed excitement about his new role and a commitment to Cheltenham's continued success. Jockey Club chief Nevin Truesdale praised Lavender’s experience, while Cheltenham chairman Martin St Quinton highlighted Lavender’s standout qualities from a thorough recruitment process. St Quinton also thanked Renton for his contributions and support during the transition.
