Golden Ace's unbeaten record over hurdles has sparked discussions about a potential appearance at the esteemed Cheltenham Festival.
Having finished as the runner-up in the Grade Two mares' bumper at Aintree, this emerging star from Jeremy Scott's stable showcased her talent in the jumping arena at Taunton earlier this year. Despite carrying a mandatory penalty for the Stables Business Park Mares' Novices' Hurdle, Golden Ace entered the race as the strong 1-2 favourite, guided by the skilled Lorcan Williams. The victory, achieved with a comfortable two and a quarter-length lead over Linda Moon, has now positioned Golden Ace as a promising 10-1 contender for the Ryanair Mares' Novices' Hurdle on March 14 at Cheltenham.
While Scott acknowledged the allure of the final of the Herring Queen Mares' Novices Hurdle Series at Kelso on April 6, he firmly believes that Golden Ace is a worthy candidate for the Festival. Expressing optimism about her future prospects, Scott emphasised the need for further improvement in her jumping skills to tackle more significant challenges. With lofty ambitions in mind, Golden Ace's participation at Cheltenham remains the primary plan, although the enticing alternative of the richly rewarding final race should not be entirely disregarded.
