Go Bears Go is set to make a comeback at the Curragh’s Phoenix Sprint Stakes after rejoining trainer David Loughnane's yard.
The five-year-old started his career with Loughnane, achieving instant success with a debut win and a successful juvenile career. He finished second in both the Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot and the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint at Del Mar. Additionally, he claimed victory in the Railway Stakes and secured third place, narrowly missing out in the Phoenix Stakes.
As a three-year-old, he triumphed in the Pavilion Stakes at Ascot, came second in the Hackwood at Newbury, and returned to the Curragh to clinch victory in the Phoenix Sprint Stakes.
After departing Loughnane's stable at the end of 2022 to join Wesley Ward in America's Keeneland, followed by a brief stint with Adrian Murray, the Amo Racing-owned son of Kodi Bear has now returned to familiar surroundings.
Loughnane expressed his delight at having the former stable star back, and has been gradually preparing the horse since his return. Another attempt at the Phoenix Sprint Stakes is on the cards, provided everything progresses smoothly in the coming weeks.
