Giavellotto is set to head the Irish St Leger

After winning the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket last week, Giavellotto is set to head straight to the Irish St Leger.

The chestnut horse started his season early in February with a race in Riyadh, followed by a race in Dubai, where he finished fifth.

He then went on to win the Yorkshire Cup at York before dropping down in trip to win the Princess of Wales’s Stakes at Newmarket.

Trainer Marco Botti confirmed that Giavellotto will be aiming for the Irish St Leger next, as he has come out of his recent race fresh and well.

Botti mentioned that Giavellotto is physically stronger this year and mentally in the right place, showing maturity and enjoyment in his races.

The plan is to give him an easier time through the peak of summer before aiming for success at the Irish St Leger.
