Gerald Cooper’s New Chapter: Racing for a Cause

Gerald Cooper, a beloved figure from the hit series “Clarkson’s Farm”, is embarking on an exciting new journey as a racehorse owner, with a heartfelt mission to support Prostate Cancer UK. Through a syndicate managed by Old Gold Racing, Cooper’s horse, aptly named "The Mullet", will be trained by Charlie Longsdon and aims to combine the thrill of racing with charitable fundraising.

Cooper, who publicly shared his prostate cancer diagnosis on the show hosted by Jeremy Clarkson, is now cancer-free after successful treatment. Wanting to give back to the organisation that supported him, he partnered with the Longsdon team and Old Gold Racing to launch this venture.

The syndicate plans to sell 3,000 shares in "The Mullet", with an annual donation of £28,500 to Prostate Cancer UK if all shares are sold. Shareholders will also have the option to contribute prize money earned by the gelding to the charity.

Reflecting on his journey, Cooper revealed that his diagnosis was initially a shock but credited the support of loved ones and Prostate Cancer UK for helping him recover. He described this project as an opportunity to make a difference while pursuing a passion for racing. He expressed excitement about working with the Longsdon team and Old Gold Racing, calling it a perfect fit.

Trainer Charlie Longsdon, based in Chipping Norton, shared his enthusiasm for the project, noting the close connection his family has with Cooper. He described "The Mullet" as a promising horse with an eager attitude and a bright future. Longsdon noted that this initiative is about more than racing—it’s a meaningful way to raise funds for a cause close to Cooper’s heart.

Ed Seyfried, CEO of Old Gold Racing, echoed this sentiment, praising Cooper’s character and highlighting the universal impact of cancer. He expressed pride in supporting this unique syndicate and shared excitement for the journey ahead with "The Mullet".

Gerald Cooper’s move into racehorse ownership is more than just a personal milestone—it’s a story of resilience, hope, and giving back. Fans of "Clarkson’s Farm" and racing enthusiasts alike are eagerly watching as Cooper channels his trademark charm into a venture that’s as impactful as it is inspiring.
