Winner of the Dual Stayers’ Hurdle, Flooring Porter, is set to compete in Killarney as a stepping stone towards the Kerry National.
Trainer Gavin Cromwell's charge had a successful start over fences at Cheltenham last October before returning to hurdles and finishing second in the Stayers’ Hurdle at the Festival.
After taking a break following a fifth-place finish at Aintree, the nine-year-old will now return to fences in the BoyleSports Handicap Chase at a shorter distance than ideal.
Despite this, Cromwell believes it will prepare Flooring Porter for the Kerry National in September at Listowel.
The trainer stated, “He looks great, and we’re happy with him, and this looks like a good starting point.” The field will include high-class chasers Dancing On My Own and Dreal Deal among others.
