Final Voyage seeks more success on the UK All-Weather circuit

Final Voyage will seek another prized UK All-Weather win as he takes on ten competitors in the lucrative £50,000 BetMGM Lincoln Trial Handicap at Wolverhampton tomorrow. The Johnny Murtagh-trained gelding, victor of the All-Weather Vase Mile Handicap at Lingfield Park on Good Friday last year, comes off a triumph at Dundalk two weeks back.

Commenting on the upcoming race, the trainer mentioned that Final Voyage emerged successful from his previous outing and is suited to all-weather tracks, making this event an appealing target. A potential victory could secure a spot in the Mile race on Finals Day. Murtagh expressed slight reservations about the extended mile distance, initially viewing Final Voyage as a seven-furlong contender. However, he noted the gelding's improved performance this season, highlighting Wolverhampton's tight track compared to Dundalk's long straight, where Final Voyage handled the mile effectively in his last race.

In addition to Final Voyage, the competition features King’s Code pursuing a hat-trick after recent handicap wins at Kempton Park and Southwell, the lightly raced four-year-old Smoky Mountain, and Clive Cox's Kingdom Come. William Buick's agent Tony Hind, impressed by the entries, expressed interest in Buick riding Final Voyage on Saturday, aiming for their first victory together.
