Fallen Angel’s next port of call is Royal Ascot

Karl Burke is confident that his Irish 1,000 Guineas winner, Fallen Angel, will be a strong contender in the upcoming Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. Having previously won the Moyglare Stud Stakes as a two-year-old, she had a disappointing run in the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket but redeemed herself with a strong performance at the Curragh.

Facing tough competition from the likes of Elmalka and Opera Singer, Burke believes that Fallen Angel is in top form and is the one to beat in the upcoming race. He is hopeful that she will maintain her form from the Curragh, and potentially even improve further.

Burke also mentioned his plans to potentially step Fallen Angel up to a mile and a quarter later in the summer, with races like the Nassau at Goodwood being considered. He likened Fallen Angel to his former star horse, Laurens, but acknowledged that she still has a way to go to reach Laurens' level of success.

Looking ahead to the Coronation Stakes, Burke is focused on securing a victory before discussing any future plans for Fallen Angel.
