Duffield remains optimistic about the success of City Of Troy at Sandown

George Duffield, a seasoned jockey with a successful history in the Coral-Eclipse, is tipping City Of Troy to shine at Sandown this Saturday. The 77-year-old has previously triumphed in the Esher Group One race, riding Environment Friend for James Fanshawe in 1991 and Giant's Causeway for Aidan O'Brien in 2000.

Having also secured victory in the Racing Post Trophy aboard Aristotle for O'Brien, Duffield greatly respects the master of Ballydoyle. He believes that City Of Troy has the potential to win the Eclipse, praising Ryan Moore's handling of the horse in the Derby and predicting even more impressive performances to come.

Despite a disappointing run in the 2000 Guineas, City Of Troy bounced back to win at Epsom, reaffirming Duffield's confidence in the talented colt. The jockey recalls his experiences riding Giant's Causeway in the Eclipse, highlighting the horse's fighting spirit and determination to win.

Reflecting on his past victories and memorable races, including his unexpected triumph with Environment Friend in the Eclipse, Duffield emphasises the unpredictable nature of horse racing but remains optimistic about the future success of City Of Troy. His admiration for Aidan O'Brien's training methods and dedication to his horses only strengthens his belief in the talented colt.
