Dave Nevison is eyeing three races at Hamilton Park.
Thetheoryofeverything
While the race features several in-form contenders, Nevison is taking a chance on Thetheoryofeverything at a decent price. After undergoing a wind operation, the horse showed promise on his reappearance for David O’Meara at Newmarket, although he struggled in subsequent runs. Returning from a two-month break last time, he finished fifth without being pushed hard. With a favourable draw in stall 1 and a 3lb drop from the handicapper, Nevison is optimistic that Thetheoryofeverything will be more confident and fit. O’Meara, known for his success with older horses from other yards, is expected to help this four-year-old find his stride soon.
Iris Dancer
Iris Dancer, a Hamilton specialist, has frequently raced at this track. Recently, he appears to be an improved sprinter. He won at Carlisle two starts ago and showed good form in a tough handicap last time out. Although he’s near the top of his handicap range and hasn’t won above a mark of 70, his recent performances suggest he has the ability to succeed. With Tristan Davidson’s stable in good form, this could be Iris Dancer’s moment at Hamilton.
Reveal
This 0-55 handicap is surprisingly competitive, but Reveal seems to have dropped to a winnable mark after a strong second over course and distance last time. He performed well off a mark of 72 earlier this year but struggled until blinkers were applied last time, which improved his performance off a 15lb lower mark.
