Clarendon House, trained by Robert Cowell, has had a successful season so far. After a fourth-place finish in the Blue Point Sprint at Meydan, he finished third in the Hever Sprint at Southwell. He then won the Lindum York Handicap in May before a disappointing run in the Epsom Dash where he refused to leave the stalls.
Cowell enlisted the help of equine behaviour experts Craig and Jake Witheford, and their work paid off as Clarendon House won the Midsummer Sprint at Cork impressively. He exited the stalls smoothly and won by two and three-quarters lengths.
Cowell praised the performance of his horse and the work of the Withefords, hoping that his reluctance to leave the stalls at Epsom was a one-off occurrence. Clarendon House now looks ahead to the City Walls Stakes at York, followed by a possible run in the Nunthorpe.
Cowell is confident in his horse's abilities and believes that he has a good chance in the upcoming races at York. He highlighted Clarendon House's previous success at the track and is looking forward to seeing him compete in the City Walls Stakes and potentially the Nunthorpe.
