Burke is not targeting Ascot with Teej A

Owners of Teej A have decided to skip Royal Ascot with their Epsom champion in favour of other big-race ambitions later in the season. Trained by Karl Burke, the impressive daughter of Mehmas secured victory in the Woodcote Stakes by a length and a quarter over Megalithic.

Despite her success, Teej A will not be following in the footsteps of previous Woodcote winner Oscula and will not be competing in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot. Instead, she may opt for races such as the Empress Stakes in Newmarket or the Prix du Bois at Deauville.

Owner Nick Bradley expressed his preference for races with fewer runners, such as the Cheveley Park Stakes on the Rowley Mile later in the season, over the crowded fields at Ascot. The team is considering their options and will discuss the best plan for Teej A in the coming weeks.
