Bucanero Fuerte is targeting the Betfair Sprint Cup at Haydock as his next goal, having been sidelined since May.
Adrian Murray’s three-year-old showed promise earlier in the season with a Group Three victory, adding to his Phoenix Stakes win from last year. However, he missed the Commonwealth Cup and July Cup due to travel sickness but appears to be back in form.
Murray commented that the plan is to target the Sprint Cup at Haydock. He noted that Bucanero Fuerte started the season strongly, but sometimes things go wrong with horses despite their best efforts.
He added that Bucanero Fuerte is now in excellent shape and has resumed training. Murray is looking forward to the autumn, particularly because the horse handles soft ground well. With the sprint division currently lacking a standout competitor, if Bucanero Fuerte returns to his best, he should be very competitive.
