Bradsell is set for a summer sprint campaign, with the Nunthorpe Stakes next on his agenda, following his victory in the Prix du Cercle at Deauville.
The four-year-old, trained by Archie Watson, has previously shone at Royal Ascot, winning the Coventry Stakes in 2022 and the King’s Stand Stakes in 2023. He returned to the Nunthorpe at York last year, finishing a solid third behind Live In The Dream and Highfield Princess.
Bradsell's three-year-old season concluded with a seventh-place finish in the Flying Five, and he missed the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint due to an injury. A setback also ruled him out of the Al Quoz Sprint at Meydan and Royal Ascot.
However, thanks to Watson’s efforts, Bradsell made a successful return at Deauville, winning the Listed Prix du Cercle over five furlongs by a length and a quarter under Hollie Doyle. This victory, after a 329-day absence, sets him up well for the rest of the summer and autumn.
Oliver St Lawrence, racing manager for Victorious Racing, said: “It was fantastic to see him return in such good form. Archie and his team have done an incredible job. He won in a strong field, and we expect him to improve from this run. The Nunthorpe will be his next target, and we’re optimistic about his chances.”
