Blaze The Way Shows Determination to Win Bumper Race

Blaze The Way, trained by Mag Mullins, showed great determination in the final moments to fend off the challenge from Eastbank Warrior in the last race of the day at Thurles.

Tom Hamilton guided his horse into a slight lead with just a furlong and a half remaining, but it seemed precarious as Eastbank Warrior made a strong push on the inside.

However, Blaze The Way held firm under pressure in the last stretch and pulled away towards the finish line, securing a victory by a margin of two and a half lengths.

The 5/1 victor had finished a distant third in his first race, trailing behind Joystick at Leopardstown during the festive season.

Mullins expressed his satisfaction, stating,

"I have a good feeling about him. He put on an impressive performance on his debut and is a half-brother to Enniscoffey Oscar, a successful Grade 2 winner."

He added,

"I am pleased for the Groarke duo, Brian and Tom, who are based in Meath. Our plan may involve delaying his hurdling debut until the next season, possibly opting for a winners' bumper race instead."
"We will discuss the future plans with the owners and determine the best course of action. He has the potential to excel in hurdling with his size and could transition well to jumping fences. His strong battle in this race showcases his capabilities, making him a valuable asset."
