Billy continued his winning streak by landing a double at Pontefract

After securing his first win at Royal Ascot, jockey Billy Loughnane continued his winning streak by landing a double at Pontefract at the start of the new month.

Loughnane kicked things off with a victory on Magnum Opus in the bettingsites.co.uk Betting Sites Handicap, with the horse looking strong despite a disappointing performance in his previous race.

He then went on to win the Wayne Conway Memorial Handicap on Coloane, trained by Roger Fell and Sean Murray.

Reflecting on his recent success, Loughnane expressed his gratitude and excitement, hoping to keep the momentum going in his career.

In another upset, Unspoken Love trained by Karl Burke and ridden by Danny Tudhope emerged victorious in the Tattersalls £40,000 EBF Spindrifter Fillies’ Novice Stakes, beating the odds-on favourite Ardeur.

Meanwhile, Ed Bethell celebrated a win with Cavalier Approach in the Napoleons Casino Bradford Handicap, making up for the disappointing performance of Old Cock earlier in the day.

Late Arrival, ridden by Joanna Mason, also made a late comeback to win the Northern Commercials Order Your New Iveco Vehicle Handicap after a two-year gap since his last victory.

Overall, it was a successful day of racing at Pontefract, with unexpected winners and exciting finishes.
