Banbridge Gears Up for Return with King George VI Chase on the Horizon

Banbridge is being prepared for a seasonal return at either Navan or Cork, with trainer Joseph O’Brien setting sights on a shot at the King George VI Chase on Boxing Day. The accomplished eight-year-old has proven his calibre over fences, boasting five wins, including the Grade One Silviniaco Conti Chase at Kempton and the Champion Chase at Punchestown.

O’Brien plans to start Banbridge over a shorter distance, saying, "He’s progressing well and will likely begin in a race like the Fortria or Hilly Way, with King George as a medium-term goal."

Should Banbridge line up for the Fortria Chase at Navan, he may face Gordon Elliott’s contenders Riviere D’Etel and Found A Fifty. Elliott highlighted Found A Fifty's recent form, stating, "He was impressive at Down Royal and could run in the Fortria or the John Durkan as a lead-up to Christmas."

With Ladbrokes pricing Banbridge and Found A Fifty at 12-1 and 25-1, respectively, both horses are shaping up as exciting prospects for the King George.
