David Marnane-trained Amemri notched her fourth career victory by decisively winning the Rose Hotel Handicap at Listowel.
Jumping smartly from her rail draw, Luke McAteer settled her in the box seat early, closely following pace-setters Simple Endeavour and Seas And Oceans.
Always travelling smoothly, Amemri caught the eye as the field turned into the home straight. Seas And Oceans briefly took the lead from Simple Endeavour just before the final furlong.
However, McAteer quickly covered that move, drawing level with them at the furlong marker. He then surged ahead in the final stretch, securing victory by three-quarters of a length over the closing Nika Pika.
Winning jockey McAteer remarked, "It just goes to show that she was my only ride today. I had five rides here yesterday, but they didn’t go as planned. We believed this filly would have won already this year, given that she won three times last year. David told me to follow Shane Foley on Simple Endeavour to the furlong pole, and he was spot on! David is currently at the sales reinvesting for the future, and it's fantastic that Mel owns her. David had a nice horse win here last year, and it went on to sell well, so everything seems to be going great."
