Alflaila is expected to skip the Coral-Eclipse, as his connections feel it is too soon after his successful comeback at Royal Ascot. Trained by Owen Burrows, the five-year-old put in a strong performance in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes, finishing fourth behind Auguste Rodin. Racing manager Angus Gold believes that running Alflaila back too quickly may cause him to not perform as well. They are looking at other races for the horse to compete in, such as the Sky Bet York Stakes.
The Shadwell operation also saw success with Israr at Ascot, who will now step up in class. Anmaat, a Group One winner, is currently working on making a comeback after a long injury layoff. Alyanaabi, who ran well in the St James’s Palace Stakes, will move up in distance to a mile and a quarter to better suit his abilities.
