International entries may be lower than usual this year at Royal Ascot, but Hamad Al-Jehani will bring some global flavour with his runner Beshtani, who finished second at Epsom, set to compete at the prestigious meeting.
The 35-year-old is a successful trainer in Qatar, having won the Qatar Guineas and Derby with various horses.
He recently moved to Newmarket to oversee Wathnan Racing's UK string and has shown promise despite not yet securing a win. Beshtani, who narrowly missed victory at Epsom, will aim for success at the Royal Hunt Cup, potentially joined by stablemate Make Me King.
Richard Brown, Wathnan's racing adviser, is optimistic about Al-Jehani's future prospects and expects a strong showing at the upcoming meeting. Beshtani is currently priced at 12-1 for the Royal Hunt Cup, with Al-Jehani looking to build on his positive start in the UK.
