Al Hakeem's connections are eyeing a return to ParisLongchamp, hoping for another shot at the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe in the fall. Trained by Jean-Claude Rouget, the promising colt showed great potential as a three-year-old, finishing a strong fourth in the prestigious race behind Alpinista. However, a subsequent injury setback kept him out of action for over a year.
After a successful comeback in the Group Three La Coupe, Al Hakeem's team, including owners Al Shaqab Racing, are cautiously planning his route to the Arc. Following Rouget's preferred approach of spacing out races, they are considering targeting the Prix Gontaut-Biron in Deauville in August before deciding on their autumn plan.
While the ultimate goal is a return to ParisLongchamp for the Arc, the team is mindful of not rushing the talented colt. With Rouget still recovering, they are taking a careful and calculated approach, with the hope of building towards a successful campaign in the coming months.
