Aidan O'Brien's talented horse, Unquestionable, who previously won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, is now aiming to achieve greatness at ParisLongchamp by competing in the French 2000 Guineas.
Unquestionably, the offspring of Wootton Bassett embarked on a remarkable journey, marking his debut at the highest level in the most spectacular fashion. Donning the Al Shaqab colours, he etched his name in history with a monumental victory at the Breeders' Cup in Santa Anita last November.
After a series of impressive performances, including a close chase of Richard Hannon's Rosallion in the Prix Jean-Luc Lagardere, Unquestionable is now poised for a thrilling comeback to the vibrant racing scene in Paris. The anticipation is palpable.
His Ballydoyle trainer is considering the possibility of a pre-season warm-up race. Still, the race that everyone involved is eagerly anticipating is the Poule d'Essai des Poulains on 12 May. O'Brien has his sights set on securing his sixth win in this prestigious race for colts.
"Without a doubt, it's great, and Aidan will determine whether he pursues a trial, but the intention is for him to participate in the French Guineas," expressed Alison Begley, a racing consultant from the UK representing Al Shaqab, who jointly owns the three-year-old horse with Coolmore and Westerberg.
"He performed exceptionally at Longchamp in the Lagardere, and we intend to replicate that success." Currently, Aidan is contemplating a trial, but the primary objective for this season is the French Guineas.
